Looking for some short podcasts to listen to? Something with episodes that come out daily? Here's the list you've been searching for.
If you're like me, you're trying to squeeze in a million different things every day.
Work, side-hustle, maintaining a household, maintaining a marriage, reading more, watching TV less (but still keeping up with all the latest Netflix shows)...the list goes on.
Many of you are probably also trying to raise little people, and some of you might be taking care of older people.
Add to the list: finding time to listen to podcasts.
This isn't a problem for me most days, but there are times when I am seriously slammed and I only have 10 minutes here or 20 minutes there. I need some short podcasts.
I prefer short podcasts that come out more than once per week. When episodes of a show are only 10-20 minutes long, that doesn't provide much opportunity to get to know the hosts, format, or tone. Daily podcasts, or even a show with 2-3 episodes per week, let you get comfortable with a show.
All that said, finding short daily podcasts is HARD. This is because a lot of "daily" shows are actually radio shows that are put out as podcasts, and they average 45 minutes in length.
Also, a lot of those daily shows are news shows. And even though I was once a news-junkie in a former life, there are only so many "headline highlight" podcasts that I can take.
So here's a list that I've compiled of short daily podcasts that are not just news shows. Find one or two that you like, and subscribe so you can have a little something different to listen to every day.
Short Daily Podcasts That Aren't Just News Shows
Ray Taylor Show (Inspired Disorder Podcast)
Fans of The Joe Rogan Experience will enjoy Ray Taylor's daily podcast. Episodes are regularly under 10 minutes and Ray talks about everything under the sun: other podcasts, TV series, MMA, and many different pop culture topics.
Co-hosts to the show have changed over time, but Ray is the real reason to listen. He's a fascinating character (take a trip on over to his website and you'll see what I mean).

Through The Bible In A Year
You don't have to be religious to find the Bible interesting. This podcast does exactly as the title leads you to believe: reads a Bible passage each day. The passages are read chronologically (as opposed to how the Bible is actually organized).
There's no commentary in these short episodes; just a straight reading of the Bible. Do with it what you like.

Side Hustle School
This daily podcast (Sundays are "Weekly recap" episodes) features quick stories about people who have made real money from their side hustles. If you've grown weary of listening to podcasts with long guest interviews, this podcast is for you.
Listen carefully: the host of Side Hustle School speaks pretty quickly, but he drops a lot of great tips and knowledge in a short amount of time.
The Curiosity Podcast
Yes, I've recommended this podcast a number of times (most recently in The Best Podcasts of 2018 post). It just so happens to fall into the category of "short daily podcasts" (and when you like something, you spread the word, right?)
This podcast is both funny and educational, and is one that I like to binge-listen to every couple of weeks. But you can listen Sunday through Friday and not miss a thing.

The Indicator
Okay, hear me out on this one. 90% of the episodes of The Indicator (which is spinoff of NPR's Planet Money podcast) are not related to daily news. The show covers economics in a broad, pop-culture-related manner. But there ARE occasional headline-covering episodes. (I told you, finding non-news shows was difficult!)
Planet Money has always been great at presenting complicated economic and financial concepts in a concise, easy-to-understand way, and The Indicator is no different. Episodes average 9 minutes.
The CyberWire Daily
Okay, officially, this daily podcast (Monday - Saturday) is a news show, but it's focused on tech news from around the world. While most episodes include the latest tech news, not everything they cover is pulled from the previous day's headlines.
Episodes are 20 minutes and under, and the Research Saturday episodes take a deeper look at broader technology stories.
