The wonderful thing about podcasts - especially when you are a busy parent - is that they are convenient. You can listen in the car, while getting ready for work, while cooking or exercising…you name it.
There is a plethora of parenting podcasts out there for you to listen to. Topping most lists are: Little Sprigs, Spawned, The Mom Hour, Mom and Dad are Fighting, and The Boob Group. But there are so many more great parenting podcasts beyond this list.
My goal is to share parenting podcasts that you might not find on the top results of a Google search, but are just as worthy to be on the list.
The five podcasts that I’m going to share with you are the shows that will help you to be a better parent without making you feel guilty about how you’re currently parenting.
My parenting podcasts recommendations feature well-organized, positive shows that have easy-to-implement information. They are smart, thought-provoking, and helpful.
Parenting Podcasts You May Not Have Heard About
The Home and Family Culture Podcast
This podcast features interviews with experts who offer tips and tools to help you discover and design your family vision, values, beliefs, and traditions.
The host, Jodi, does a wonderful job creating an environment where interviewees and listeners feel right at home. The guests she interviews are super inspirational, informational, and passionate about their topics.
Episodes themes include: raising kids who like to read, homeschooling, the importance of playing outdoors, family mealtime, and online safety.

The Abundant Mama Show
This is the podcast for you if you are a mom seeking calm, clarity and wisdom.
The host, Shawn Fink, is the founder and family wellness coach at The Abundant Mama Project. She is dedicated to encouraging mothers to take care of themselves.
If you’re an introverted mom who is overwhelmed by all the distractions of today’s world, this podcast will help you re-focus your days (and your emotions).

TEDTalks Kids + Family
These family-focused TEDTalks videos can be found in most podcast players (and on iTunes). These talks are from some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers in parenting, child development and research. They inspire, intrigue, and stir the imagination.
Topics include: What It’s Like to be a Transgender Dad, How to Design a Library That Makes Kids Want to Read, Can You Really Tell if a Kid is Lying, and Bring On the Female Superheroes.
A lot of the topics are food for thought. Many will push you to think outside of the box, which is a healthy habit to develop.
Read Aloud Revival Podcast
The purpose of the Read Aloud Revival Podcast is to help parents connect with their kids through stories. It’s for anyone who wants to take reading a step further with their family.
Sarah MacKenzie, author of The Read Aloud Family, is the leader of the podcast and is really likeable! Sarah explains how reading aloud can help your kids form strong sibling relationships, and help the whole family make lasting memories.
The podcast is full of great tips and strategies for reading with your kids. And the podcast website includes episode transcripts, cheat sheets, book lists, and a blog.

Quiet: The Power of Introverts with Susan Cain
This podcast lets you walk in the shoes of an introverted child, so you can better understand and support him or her.
You will learn the science behind being an introvert, and why being an introvert is not a negative trait.
Host Susan Cain, as well as guest experts in education and parenting, provide tips and advice for both parents and educators. The mission is to help you empower introverted kids.

Final Thoughts
I encourage you to try each of these parenting podcasts to see which one fits what you’re looking for, and what fits your family’s style. I’m positive at least one - if not all of these - will make it into your podcast library!
