These podcast recommendations are for the guys! These podcasts for men will get your dad, boyfriend, or husband hooked on podcasts! #podcast #podcastmaniacPretty much every week I see a post or comment online from a woman looking for podcasts for men.

It seems that there are a lot of female podcast fans who want to find shows that will get their boyfriends, husbands, and even granddads hooked on podcasts.

(We women want our independence, but we love it when our guys share our passion for something!)

So this week, I gave myself the task of finding the best podcasts for men.

Easy? No. Not even close. Starting with the fact that I’m a woman!

I had to take few different approaches to creating a list of dude casts:

1. I looked at the top-rated podcasts and selected a few that have content that leans towards a male audience

2. I spoke to some listeners/readers of the blog for their podcast recommendations

3. I then whittled these lists down because they were heavy on sports podcasts (there’s more to life, right?)

4. I asked my own husband for his recommendations

So, ladies (and men, if you're reading this): here are some podcast recommendations for the next time you're wondering what shows will get your guy to be all earbuds, all the time.

Podcasts That Men Will Love

Crime In Sports Podcast is one of the Best Podcasts for Men according to this blog post by Podcast ManiacCrime in Sports

If you ask guys who listen to podcasts regularly, most of them will tell you that they love this show. Take true crime and cross it with real-life sports stars, and you get the premise for this show.

The idea of "dumb criminals" extends to even the most famous athletes, and the hosts of Crime in Sports, two comedians, keep things lively while breaking down these crime stories.

Guys will love this show because it sounds a lot like the typical sports talk radio show. I like it because the episode titles are hilarious and the intro music is groovy.

The Criminal Podcast is one of Podcast Maniac's recommendations for Best Podcasts for MenCriminal

Staying on the true crime train for a moment, this podcast recommendation comes from my husband. He has two reasons for loving it: the first is that he loves the host's voice. Maybe a little too much. (He's not a creep, I swear!)

The second reason that my husband (and I, and a LOT of other people) rank Criminal as one of the best podcasts around because it is full of unique stories of crime and injustice, and the stories are told in a really compelling way.

Hubby and I recently listened to the episode titled The Escape. My husband laughed out loud and, at one point, exclaimed, "This is awesome!"

Human/Ordinary Podcast is one of the Top Podcasts for Men as recommended by PodcastManiac.comHuman/Ordinary

Solo Australian podcaster Sam Loy is currently on Season 3 of the Human/Ordinary podcast, which explores what it means to be human.

Each episode of the podcast tells a different story. Themes include: politics, football (the Australian kind), meat-eating, suburban wrestling, death, and dickheads (that's the host's word, not mine). This is a highly-produced show that I think women would enjoy listening to with their guys.

The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast is one of the Top Podcasts for Men on the Podcast Maniac Blog. The Joe Rogan Experience

This is one of the most popular podcasts for men in the podosphere. It's a couple of hours of guys being guys and talking about a never-ending list of topics. Comedian Joe Rogan is joined by guests on what is essentially a daily radio show.

This show won't appeal to all women; I find it funny and interesting, but not enough to listen to daily. I can absolutely understand why guys like it though, so it's totally recommendable.

The Track Changes Podcast by Postlight is one of the Best Podcasts for Men on the Podcast Maniac BlogTrack Changes

This podcast shines a spotlight on technology in culture (it's like a more serious version of Gimlet's Reply All). It's produced and hosted by the co-founders of Postlight, a digital design company (think: app creation).

Episode topics include everything from data encryption and bad software to sneaker bots and conspiracy theories about photos that are stuck on your iCloud.

This show is totally guy-friendly (it's hosted by guys, the majority of the guests are guys, they often talk about coding and other male-dominated tech jobs, etc), and is really well-produced.

The My Brother, My Brother and Me Podcast is One of the Top Podcasts for Men on the Podcast Maniac BlogMy Brother, My Brother and Me

Take three brothers, some juvenile chit-chat, and a quasi-advice column format, and you've got My Brother, My Brother and Me.

Real-life brothers Justin, Travis, and Griffin are fantastic conversationalists and hilarious jokesters. At any given moment, one - or all - of them reminds me of comedian Jim Gaffigan.

This podcast is NOT suitable for listening with kids around, and sometimes it's gross and offensive, but it's highly-rated because it's just plain funny and fun.

The Dudes To Dads Podcast is a Recommended Best Podcasts for Men on the Podcast Maniac BlogDudes to Dads

I only recently learned about this podcast from a friend of the blog who told me that her husband loves this show. Dudes To Dads is a show about transitioning from being a single dude to being a family man (also, just a responsible adult).

Apparently the show has quite the following - and episodes that go all the way back to 2015! The hosts are "guys guys"; they discuss real-life topics in a casual, often humorous, way without being super touchy-feely.

Here is a sample of episode topics: Should you drink around your kids?; things you should NEVER say to a child; dealing with and understanding kids who are scared of everything; rebuilding your relationship with your kid after divorce.
